Access to Environmental Information

The context of the incident is equally important in the planning of the response.

-     Prevailing weather at incident site - This is particularly important when there is a spillage of hazardous material that may react with the rain or the sun. Similarly, the wind may help a fire arising from the incident to spread rapidly.

-     Traffic conditions around incident - This allows the services to assess whether a timely intervention by the road vehicles can be dispatched or to make use of air support in case of very dense traffic.
