Information about Coach/Bus involved in Incident

Due to the risk of having large number of casualties when a coach or bus is involved in an incident, emergency services take such incidents very seriously.

The following information improves the response and the subsequent management of the incident.

-     Number of passengers – This allows scaling of the response. Any indication of the current number of victims is equally helpful.

-     Number of unattended kids – This is especially important if it’s a school bus or a coach on a school trip. Parents would need to be notified. This may not be crucial for coaches where kids are travelling along with their parents on a regular trip.

-     Nationalities of passengers

 -    Interpreters may be required on the incident site in order to communicate effectively with victims

 -    Due to implications on international relations, emergency services may be required to information about nationality of victims to the local authorities.

-     Particulars of the trip – details of the trip such as purpose, departure, intended destination, deviation from planned route, etc
